Obstetric Hemorrhage: Evidence-based Management and Recent Advances

by Sheela V Mane, Shobha N Gudi, Priyanka Dilip Kumar

The aim of this book is to focus on the evidence-based management and recent advances in obstetric hemorrhage. This book has been the overwhelming concern among health providers that all obstetricians do not have adequate skills for control of hemorrhage, transfer of critically ill mothers are suboptimal and infrastructural deficiencies have a profound impact on the outcome for the mother and the fetus. The book is well laid out into five sections that include demography, clinical governance and audit, hemorrhage in early pregnancy, antepartum hemorrhage, postpartum hemorrhage and critical situations. The chapters in the different sections cover the technical, nontechnical and organizational skills and requirements needed to ‘eliminate’ morbidity and mortality related to obstetric hemorrhage. This book will help consultants, postgraduates and obstetric intensivists in updating their knowledge and skills.
