This book is intended to serve as an in-depth textbook and guide for understanding the subject of retina and vitreous and the diseases related to it with well-illustrated colored images and all the recent updates. It is broadly divided into 9 sections with relevant chapters in each section. Section 1 is dedicated to basic sciences and diagnostics and covers useful anatomy and physiology of the eye, the all-important retinal imaging with the latest imaging platforms and crisp pictures of retinal diseases imaged with the latest high technology hardware. Section 2 is devoted to retinal degenerations and fundal dystrophies. Section 3 is totally devoted to macular diseases including central serous chorioretinopathy (CSC), age-related macular degeneration (AMD), and etiologies leading to secondary choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM). The next section is devoted to vascular occlusions including ocular ischemic syndrome (OIS). The all-important diabetic retinopathy is explained in great detail including its epidemiology, pathogenesis, classification and trials till date. Section 5 of this compendium is devoted to pediatric retinal disease including retinopathy of prematurity (ROP), familial exudative vitreoretinopathy (FEVR), Coats’ disease and iridofundal coloboma. Section 6 is devoted to uveal diseases including both infectious and noninfectious uveitis with illustrations to support the text. Section 7 details with surgical retina including management of retinal detachment (RD), retinal lasers, scleral buckling procedures including pneumatic retinopexy, and vitreous substitutes. This section ends with newer innovations and techniques in vitreoretina. The second last section covers the useful topic of ocular trauma as Section 9 and comprehensively covers classification, globe injury, disc avulsion, retained intraocular foreign body (RIOFB), post-traumatic endophthalmitis and shaken baby syndrome. This book is useful for all the ophthalmic practitioners and researchers as it contains extensive and easily accessible material with special focus on medical and surgical management of various diseases
