Tuberculosis remains one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality in all the age groups due to a single infection. Pediatric tuberculosis is challenging due to nonspecific clinical symptoms and difficulty in obtaining samples for making a diagnosis. This book consists of 6 sections that mainly focus on concepts about epidemiology, microbiology, immunopathegenesis, pathology, clinical spectrum, laboratory and radiodiagnosis, management, prevention, and control of tuberculosis in children. In the management section, the chapters on antituberculosis drugs have been completely revised and updated to facilitate the readers to understand various regimens used in the clinical spectrum of TB in children specially HIV/TB coinfection and MDR-TB. Chapters on research priorities and ethics involved in clinical trials will facilitate pediatricians to write high quality scientific projects on TB in children to have research grant from funding agencies.
