SRB’s Manual of Surgery

This book is born out of a desire to provide a complete, authoritative, current textbook on surgery. The manual is written for the students in this firing line for their MBBS degree. SRB's Manual of Surgery will be useful for undergraduates and postgraduate’s students and medical professionals. This book is divided into 56 chapters which are organized into 3 sections following general surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, and specialties and other surgeries. Each chapter begins with surgical anatomy and physiology, essential relevant investigations, different topics discussed in an orderly fashion so that readers will have flow of thoughts and materials with a lucid language. Every topic in all chapters is covered as per syllabus including CBME. Definition, pathophysiology, clinical features, evaluation methods and treatment are highlighted so that students can understand the subject in an analytical way rather than memorizing the subject. Brief operative techniques are added wherever they are needed. Adequate good quality photographs and illustrations are placed so that students can imagine the clinical entity better way. Image provokes imagination which leads to an analytical approach. Even though guidelines are provided in managing patients, finally surgery is the analysis, decision making and careful implementation of the strategy in a defined way. Often in many situations detailed explanations are given as students by this will understand the subject very well and will be very useful in answering MCQs in eventual entrance examinations for postgraduate studies. Quotations and footnotes are added in all pages so that students can enjoy them while reading.
