The aim of this textbook is to focus on short and long cases in surgery. This is a thoroughly revised edition with the inclusion of updated information along with new clinical and operative images. This book consists of 20 chapters, which include skin and subcutaneous tissues, ulcer, sinus, and fistula, mouth, tongue, and lips, cleft lip and cleft palate, spina bifida, salivary glands, swellings of the jaw, cervical lymph node enlargement, arterial disorders, varicose vein, venous ulcer, certain disorders of the breast, swollen leg, hernia, filariasis in surgery, and penis. Each chapter has been thoroughly revised with the deletion of some chapters and unnecessary information and addition of some relevant sections in relation to the recent curriculum of MBBS course. Each chapter contains sections on theoretical discussions on possible short cases, case-based discussions on short and long cases in a question-answer format, and multiple-choice questions with answers and explanations. All possible short cases are discussed based on embryology, anatomy, physiology, pathology, clinical presentation, and management in a textbook format. The last chapter is also dedicated to OSCEs, a newly included topic in the MBBS practical syllabus. This book is helpful to navigate the expanding surgical knowledge as well as a useful guidebook for facing examinations.
