Initially terminologies, source of nutrition, basal metabolism are described. This is followed by description of proximate principles viz., carbohydrates, Protein and Fat. With the description of nutritive value and recommended intake, balanced diets for different situation are described with tabulation. Nutritional diseases are taken for discussion in length. Food poisoning and food toxin are discussed. Common therapeutic diets are discussed with illustration. Nutritional surveillance and food surveillance are detailed.
