In the modern era it is mandatory there is an exclusive book on ophthalmology for nurses. This book is written in very simple language and is well illustrated so that the nurses who read this will be able to easily understand. A brief history of ophthalmic nursing followed by basics of anatomy and physiology are given first. There are detailed instructions on how to handle the eye patients. The various procedures done in outpatient department are explained with diagrams and photos for the easy understanding of the reader. The common various diseases of the eye are briefly mentioned since a nurse should know the diseases with which she is dealing. The O.T. procedures, sterilisation and the common operations are described. The non operative topics include therapeutics and microbiology. The book is profusely illustrated so that nothing is left to imagination of the reader–the nurse.
