The book discusses about the aspects of surgical pathology which helps to determines patient treatment and well-being. It explains about the requirements of precise data which aid patient management. It explains about the standardized techniques used for specimen handling, grossing, and microscopic reporting. The gross pathology and descriptions are mainly to aid the pathologist in correlating the naked eye appearances of specimens with varied pathological appearances as against their normal morphology. The microscopic pearls help in finding various pathologic lesions and interpret the correct disease. At the end of each chapter it gives a description about synoptic histopathology reporting and minimum data sets which is the main responsibility of the pathologist in conveying to the clinician for the patients’ management. The chapter covers topics on female and male genital system, urinary system, salivary glands, gastrointestinal system, liver and gallbladder, pancreas, respiratory system, lymphoreticular system, breast, thyroid and parathyroid glands, skin, bone, soft tissue, eye and orbit, and pediatric neoplasms.
