Oral cavity is a part of body which is not only meant for tasting the delicacies but it also acts as a gateway for detection of many underlying systemic disease processes. Medical knowledge and basic understanding of the diseases is undergoing a sea change due to the advancement in the fields of immunohistochemistry, PCR, etc. This manual is intended to be a basic guide for identifying various commonly occurring oral diseases. It makes no pretence to be a comprehensive or balanced account of oral pathology as a whole. For the undergraduate students, this is essentially a practical manual which contains the basic precise and exacting methods to go about the routine practical work. This manual should be of value to undergraduates as they can draw the microscopic features in the space provided for drawing histopathological diagrams.
