Interpretation of clinical data and case history has become an important tool in clinical medicine. These are designed and formulated to quickly assess a physician’s competence in solving practical clinical problems. The purpose of this book is to provide post-graduate medical students with a useful tool to prepare for examinations that are based on assessing clinical scenario. It would help students to exercise and assess their skill of interpretation of clinical data. The focus of the book is to help students understand various key features related to a disease, what to look for in a patient and how to correlate various features of a patient with a disease. The modern way of learning is to approach a condition from various clinical scenarios. This book has incorporated this method of teaching by describing different presentations and scenarios related to a disease condition. The book has 5 chapters on case histories and clinical data, family trees (pedigree), spirometry, cardiac catheterization and pictorial diagnosis. The answers to all these are provided at the end along with a short note on the specific condition (clinical features, investigations and management) so that the candidate can get a good idea without going through a big text book. There are 100 pictorial diagnoses which is becoming a popular mode of assessment in different clinical examinations. There are also data on cardiac catheterization in this edition, though helpful for students of cardiology, this will also give some idea to students of other speciality as well. This book will help to increase a doctor’s competence, confidence, efficiency and skill in diagnosing a particular disease, formulating specific investigation and prescribing proper management.
