Operative laparoscopy and hysteroscopy have become an integral part of gynecological surgery. So many gynecologist not only want to learn laparoscopy but also want establish a laparoscopy centre. Majority of gynecologists perform endoscopic surgeries in their regular gynecological operation theatre which is not designed for endoscopic surgery. Naturally there is overcrowding of equipments in a chaotic manner. Inappropriate use of these equipments can result in operative inefficiencies and safety problems for both patients and staff. This article aims to give a general idea about setting up a modern gynecological endoscopy unit. First part of this article give the description of the operating room size, the type of ceiling , floor, doors, air-conditioning, electrical supply, sockets and storage space. The details of post anesthesia care unit also described. The second part describes about the details of laparoscopy equipments, video cameras, monitors, energy equipments, hand instruments and morcellators.
