Physiotherapy is an important part of orthopedic practice. Physiotherapeutic interventions are essential for orthopedic patient’s rehabilitation. The main aim of this book is to provide a fundamental foundation of knowledge and skills required for physical therapy management. The book discusses on the advanced techniques used for the treatment of patients. Each condition of upper and lower limb fractures are discussed with its relevant anatomy, predisposing factors, clinical features, assessment, diagnosis and comprehensive orthopedic and physiotherapy treatment. Initially the book covers the basic introduction of fractures, types of fractures, procedures to approach the person with limb injury, and general principles in fracture management. The complications associated with open and closed fractures and their proper management is discussed. Second part of the book focuses on the fractures associated with shoulders, elbow, forearm, wrist, hand, pelvis, hip, femoral shaft, knee, leg, ankle and foot. Examination of these injuries is a tedious process and involves the use of many techniques to perform examination. This book also discusses the examination and management of various injuries, such as orthopedic and physiotherapy examination, physiotherapy management of upper limb, lower limb, peripheral joint mobilization, and techniques like muscle energy techniques and positional release techniques.
