This chapter discusses the structure and function of tendons and ligaments. Tendons mainly consist of collagen and elastin which are in proteoglycan-water matrix. Tendon connects muscle to the bone and transmits the force in muscle to bone making in turn joints to movement. Each tendon has two ends one is proximal myotendinous junction (MTJ) and distal osteotendinous junction (OTJ). Proximal is muscle origin and distal is insertion. The surrounding structures of the tendons are mainly retinacula, reflection pulley, synovial sheath, paratenon and, tendon bursae. Ligaments are avascular have any blood supply like other organs. The blood vessels around the joint nourish the ligaments.
