Abstract

This chapter will define feature hardware, software and clinical use of the software-based Ortho-SUV Frame (OSF). Since all of these items are largely dependent on SUV hexapod platform, this chapter begins by comparing the characteristics of known hexapod platforms. The advantages of OSF hardware and software are based on the original SUV hexapod platform. In orthopedics, the hexapod may be considered as a universal reduction unit to allow the movement of one platform relative to another by the shortest “integral” trajectory. Free assembly, advanced struts, the best reduction capabilities, stable fixation, image-based software and wide indications for effective use are the common features of OSF. Indications, postoperative management and results of correction are also covered in this chapter.
