Abstract

This chapter divided into four parts i.e. tendinopathy/instability, arthroscopy/osteochondritis dissecans, ankle arthritis, and forefoot, trauma, miscellaneous forefoot deformity correction. Ankle instability and tendon injuries are a common foot and ankle pathologies in the general population. Achilles nonoperative management, Achilles operative management, Achilles imaging, ankle instability and operative management are the different parts of ankle instability. Ankle fusion and total ankle arthroplasty are the two parts of the ankle arthritis. Both total ankle fusion and total ankle arthroplasty have been the topic of much discussion recently and appear to be rapidly evolving. While ankle fusion is the gold standard in the treatment of tibiotalar arthritis, total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) appears to be gaining favor. Ankle fracture and calcaneus fractures and hindfoot trauma are the parts of the trauma. Trends in surgical reconstruction of Charcot deformity have been fueled by the perceived negative impact on health-related quality of life in patients with Charcot foot deformities.
