Abstract

This chapter aims to equip with images of benign cutaneous lymphoid hyperplasia, lymphocytic infiltrate of the skin, follicular mucinosis, mycosis fungoides, Sezary syndrome, folliculotrophic mycosis fungoides, subcutaneous panniculitis, lymphomatoid papulosis, anaplastic large cell lymphoma and primary cutaneous diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. The nuclear indentations of Sezary or Lutzner cell are better appreciated in Giemsa stain. Eosinophilic or plasma cell infiltrate is commonly seen in benign lymphoid hyperplasia. Epidermotropism may not be seen in granulomatous mycosis fungoides (MF). Pagetoid reticulosis shows psoriasiform hyperplasia with epidermal infiltration with haloed atypical lymphocytes. The pigmented purpuric dermatoses (PPD) and pigmented purpuric dermatitislike lesions of MF are many times difficult to distinguish histologically. Multiple biopsies over a period of time are often needed for the diagnosis of lymphomas.
