In this chapter all those lesions are included that may simulate a melanoma, both clinically and dermoscopically. They can be divided into two groups such as nonmelanocytic melanoma simulators and melanocytic melanoma simulators. Nonmelanocytic melanoma simulators include basal cell carcinoma, squamous cell carcinoma, actinic keratosis, ink-spot lentigo, seborrheic keratosis, dermatofibroma, thrombosed hemangioma, hematomas, pyogenic granuloma, eccrine poroma, and collision tumors. Melanocytic melanoma simulators include atypical nevus (Clark’s nevus), recurrent nevus, combined nevus, blue nevus, Spitz-reed nevus, melanocytic maculae, and longitudinal melanonychia.
