Abstract

This chapter outlines the imaging in cardiac electrophysiology. Noninvasive imaging, including cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR), computerized tomography (CT), position emission tomography (PET) and intracardiac echocardiography are critical tools for the electrophysiologist evaluating patients with cardiac arrhythmias. They now play a routine role in guiding diagnosis and treatment of many arrhythmia substrates, particularly atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Such tools will continue to evolve in the future, and will play an increasingly important role in helping the electrophysiologist manage patients with cardiac arrhythmias and/or sudden death risk. Cardiac CT and intracardiac ultrasound are also discussed in this chapter. 16 well-labeled figures are also presented in this chapter.
