This chapter discusses on central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia (CCCA) with the help of clinical images. It is a form of alopecia of the central scalp that extends centrifugally and is one of the common forms of scarring alopecia seen in dark skinned individuals. The exact cause of CCCA is unknown; however, the proposed causative factors are hair care practices like hot comb, relaxers, and tight extensions are implicated. Key trichoscopic features of CCCA are listed in this chapter. Peripilar gray-white halo around the emergence of the hairs is both a specific and a sensitive sign of CCCA. Broken hairs are sometimes found. Recently it was suggested as a sign of occult CCCA.
