This book focuses on pediatric nursing. Pediatric nursing is the medical care of neonates and children up to adolescence, usually in an in-patient hospital or day-clinic. This book consists of 31 chapters, which include introduction to child health and child health nursing, family-centered care, child health promotion, growth and development of child, stages of pediatric life, behavioral pediatric and pediatric nursing, assessment of pediatric patient, preventive pediatrics, integrated management of neonatal and childhood illness (IMNCI), the child with a gastrointestinal disorder, a child with respiratory disorders, the child with malignancy, cardiovascular system, common communicable diseases in children, management of selected pediatric surgical problems/disorders, crisis and nursing intervention, and intensive care for pediatric patients. In this comprehensive edition, the content is so arranged based on syllabuses of various universities in India, though the focus was on postgraduate child health nursing syllabus laid down by Indian Nursing Council.
