The aim of this chapter is to focus on the management of selected pediatric surgical problems/disorders. Pediatric surgery is a specialty of surgery involving the surgery of fetuses, infants, children, adolescents, and young adults. Pediatric surgery arose in the middle of the 20th century as the surgical care of birth defects required specialized techniques and methods and became more commonly based at children’s hospitals. The several pediatric conditions amendable to pediatric surgical treatment are hypospadias, epispadias, undescended testes, nursing management for congenital genitourinary, malformations preoperative, cheilorrhaphy, and care of the patient with an ostomy briefly explained in this chapter.
