The aim of this chapter is to focus on the management of painful procedures in pediatric patients. Although the field of pain management in children remains a gray area, there is still a need to eliminate pain in painful procedures. While it is impossible to remove all pain, unresolved pain can lead to short- and long-term negative consequences physically, psychologically, and emotionally. Procedural pain management starts by anticipation, selecting an approach tailored to procedural pain intensity, duration, coping means of child and family using a multimodal approach that meets the child’s needs. A multimodal approach should be used during the procedure such as environmental, physical, pharmacological, psychological and interventional.
