Abstract

This chapter describes the recruitment of teaching staff, budget, facilities for the school, student selection and admission procedure, administrative planning for students, welfare services for students, maintenance of school records, and preparation of annual reports. The faculty consists of Principal, Vice Principal, Senior Tutor and tutors. They also include external lecturers who may not be directly associated with the school of nursing. The Principal should be the administrative head of the school. This chapter covers the qualification of teaching staff for general nursing and midwifery program with 40 students intake and admission strength. In the overall budget of the institution, there should be provision for school budget under a separate head. Principal, school of nursing should be the drawing and disbursing officer. The items for which a budget is required in a school of nursing also vary with the nature of the institution.
