Abstract

This chapter defines the nature and principles of nursing curriculum. Curriculum is the systematic arrangement of the sum total of selected experiences planned by a school for a defined group of students to attain the aim of particular educational program. It is the composite of the entire range of experiences the learner undergoes under the guidance of the school. The need for curriculum is to meet the health care needs of the society, to meet the challenges of the future, to make the study cost-effective, to provide quality education, to provide for flexibility, and to prepare students for higher learning.
