Abstract

The objective of this chapter is to introduce the stages of curriculum development. Torres and Stanton‘s stages of curriculum development include directive stage, the formative stage, functional stage, and evaluative stage. Directive stage lays down the foundation of all the other stages. It identifies beliefs, knowledge and concepts. Functional stage includes practical form of curriculum and planned teaching and learning experiences. Evaluative stage includes input evaluation, throughput evaluation, output evaluation, and evaluation for curriculum revision.
