Abstract

This chapter talks about allergy. This chapter is divided into four sections that cover allergic rhinosinusitis, asthma, united airway disease, and environment and allergic airway disease. Allergic rhinosinusitis is a chronic inflammatory disease of the nose and sinuses after allergens exposure of nasal and sinus mucus membrane and induced by an immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated inflammation. It is a major burden socioeconomically and an early prevention and management should be focused. Asthma is a chronic immunoglobulin E (IgE) mediated noncommunicable lung disease having inflammation of airways, airway obstruction, airway hyper reactivity and airway remodeling. It is the major health burden on society like a pandemic. Allergic airway disease like allergic rhinitis and asthma are a major serious public health problem globally. They are the number one noncommunicable diseases with earliest onset in life and affect the people of all ages and do compromise the quality of life and sometime fatal and in addition pose a greatest psychosocioeconomic burden.
