The present Yearbook of Anesthesiology is the 10th volume in the series of yearly updates, published under the auspices of the Indian College of Anaesthesiologists, India, an academic body focused on improving anesthesia education. The contents of this yearbook can be divided into three subgroups—anesthesiology, pain and critical care medicine. The contents of the present volume have a mix both classical anesthesia topics like capnography, blood-brain barrier and anesthesia circuits and those that are being hotly discussed. The chapters on postdural puncture headache, colloids, perioperative thromboembolism, blood conservation strategies, peripheral effects of opioids, management of head and neck neuralgias and cancer pain would be very useful for practicing anesthesiologists. Regional anesthesia is an integral part of the practice of anesthesia, and understandably author included a chapter on the controversies which surround it. In this volume of the yearbook, chapter on covid-19 have been also discussed.
