7Foreword
This is an appreciable attempt to discuss a difficult subject of endometriosis in a simplified way.
It is evident from the material that Dr Kanthi Bansal has a enormous personal experience of endometriosis, as a practising infertility specialist.
The vast subject of endometriosis is very well concised and presented in a booklet form by her. I am sure the book will be a practical guide to PG student and practising gynecologists tackling this tricky problem of endometriosis.

9Preface
Endometriosis is a very fascinating entity due to its diverse clinical presentation. A complete and thorough knowledge of this enigmatic subject is very essential. Every aspect of endometriosis right from the defination, epidemiology, etiology, classification, diagnosis and management are covered in a simple yet complete manner. The subject will be covered in three volumes. This is the first volume covering epidemiology, etiology, factors involved in endometriosis, basic sciences of implant, the endometriotic implant, cyclical changes, steroid receptors, prostaglandins and the natural history of endometriosis. It will be most useful to practising clinicians as well as postgraduate students.
The book is designed to serve as a composite text as well as reference guide.
