5Preface
There are many books on clinical medicine and emergency medicine, but being too big to put in the coat pocket, they are either in the library or in the office and never at the bedside when it's most needed. This book has been written with this ideal in mind. It is pocket size and is readily available at the bedside at times of emergency. The aim of this book is to give confidence in differential diagnosis and management of acute medical problems and is intended to complement the standard textbooks in clinical medicine. It is suitable for medical students, and practising doctors who are likely to encounter these clinical problems.
