fm7Foreword
I am glad to write the Foreword to Spirituality inNursing book. Spirituality is an essential dimension being viewed in health. I have seen many articles and writings regarding spirituality. But many a time, concept of spirituality is confused with religious concept.
This book clearly differentiates spirituality with religion and gives the correlation between spirituality and health. Since this book is focusing wholly on nurses’ viewpoint, this will influence all levels of nursing students and nurses.
Here, author has clearly given the idea about spirituality. He guides nurses to apply spiritual dimension in nursing process. The simple language and terms make this concept understandable.
I really appreciate the author for taking effort to make this book simple and easy for nurses.
I hope that this book will be a better beginning for practicing spirituality in nursing in Indian context.
I wish the author all the best.

fm9Preface
As per World Health Organization's definition spirituality is also a major dimension to be viewed in health. Holistic Nursing focuses into all dimensions of human life. But the latest studies show that the most of nurses have negative attitude towards spirituality concept. Nurses strive to incorporate holistic care that includes spiritual care into their nursing practice. This may result from an inadequacy in nurse education that does not prepare nurses to provide spiritual care. I believe that this book will give them the idea about spirituality and the basic principles of spirituality in nursing.
My personal experience with professional people made me to write this book. Even professionals believe that discussion about spirituality is unwanted. I feel that this book will bring Renaissance in spirituality in nursing field.
