7PREFACE
I have made my best efforts to simplify the basic concepts of immunology so that a beginner of immunology will be able to understand the complex subject with little efforts. My teaching and research experience as a university teacher and my interaction with the students and colleagues have initiated the interest to write a book on fundamental aspects of immunology.
The book is written in a simple and easy language so that students of science and medicine can read and understand the subject. They can remember and reproduce as well.
The Medical Immunology part is designed for the students of Medicine, especially at the Postgraduate level. The immunological basis of diseases are described and the latest information with respect to immunology is outlined.
I thank Dr. KP Jacob, MS, Former Professor and Head of the Department of Surgery, Kerala Government Medical College, Kottayam, India for his excellent drawings.
