7PREFACE
Haematology is a dynamic medical discipline that has witnessed rapid advances in all its aspects and its scope has become vast. This Mini Atlas provides an introduction to haematology and outlines basic principles in diagnosis of important and commoner haematologic conditions, It is not intended and nor is it sufficient to cover all the basic informations in all aspects of haematology; rather it provides a ‘quick look’ at essential information. During the course of their studies, students often overlook or fail to grasp a key feature of a common disorder while reading from a large textbook. This Mini Atlas differs from standard textbooks and atlases in conveying such important features of common haematological conditions in a pictorial and easy to read format.
This Mini Atlas is based on my book “Essentials of Haematology” published by Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd, New Delhi.
