4Foreword
I am very glad to write Foreword to this 2nd edition of Clinical Pathology and Haematology with special section covering Blood Banking.
There is a desperate need of good and simple books on this subject for the DMLT and undergraduate courses across the country. This new book, written by Nanda Maheshwari, is a very appreciable effort by the author to meet the requirements of students.
The book covers all the required topics in a descriptive and synoptic style. Simple language and up-to-date data used by the author makes it easy for the student to understand various concepts.
I congratulate the author for her continuous efforts for adding new topics and chapters. May Almighty, give her courage and achievements she deserves. I wish her great success.

5Preface to the Second Edition
The great response to the first edition from the students has encouraged me to improve and complete the 2nd edition.
It is a matter of great pleasure to launch second edition of Clinical Pathology, Haematology and Blood Banking. In this new edition, I have tried to rectify my earlier mistakes and explained various concepts using simple language and short sentences. The addition of Blood Banking has given a complete approach to the subject and syllabus. Each topic covered in one small chapter makes it easy for the students to read. The aims and objectives of this book are primarily to meet the requirements of DMLT and undergraduate courses.
Clinical Pathology and Haematology is an important subject of DMLT courses, but there is non-availability of simple books on this subject makes it critical for the students. The books available are vast and mainly written for MBBS students. I have devoted all my efforts to overcome this problem. Special section for Blood Banking has been added in this edition, which covers the needs of the syllabus very well. I have tried my best to write in easy language and provide exact data. I hope that this book will satisfy the needs of DMLT students.
I welcome constructive criticism and suggestions from teachers, colleagues and students for next revised edition.
