5PREFACE
Medical and Surgical Nursing has been introduced into the nursing curriculum in this country as early as 19th century but the main source of literature was books and journals from abroad. Textbook of Medical and Surgical Nursing deals with the syllabus prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council including the areas of need and interest carefully chosen. The subject matter of this book can be easily understood by students at all levels. The INC syllabus is completely covered but provision has been made to medical and surgical care. The goal of this textbook is to provide as per WHO's definition physical, mental and social aspects of health concepts as they relate to nursing care.
Usha Ravindran Nair
