This book is humbly dedicated to my Mother Santan Correia.
She is my teacher and first guru whom I salute.
May this book bring blessing to one and all.6
7Foreword
It is a great honor to introduce a book titled Comprehensive Nursing Manual by Cecy Correia. I am impressed by the content, which is challenging in today's nursing field. Let me congratulate Cecy Correia for having prepared such a wonderful book in time.
The aim of this book is to provide a well-illustrated, up-to-date text for the nurses. I am sure the response of this book will be no less and will use it as a textbook for the further studies.
As a person associated with nursing education for a few decades, I have come to realize more and more the vital importance of such knowledge in the changing scenario of modern nursing profession.
I hope, together with students, the trained nurses as well will find it a useful book of reference.
People today have to deal with a good number of clients and health care professionals whether working in one's country or abroad, associating a great deal of proficiency in nursing care.
I have no doubt that Cecy Correia's book Comprehensive Nursing Manual is just the ideal tool to achieve these objectives. She is a renowned author and lecturer, so let me once again congratulate her in well advance. I am confident that nurses can develop critical thinking skills that provide the high quality care that is expected by the 21st century.
I am sure that the authorities of nursing schools and colleges will browse through the pages of this highly recommended work and value it. This book is available to all the nurses to guide in their quest for knowledge, skill and excellence. The book will make a valuable contribution to the nursing literature.
It is my great privilege to be asked to write the foreword to Comprehensive Nursing Manual published by well-known publisher Jaypee Brothers Medical Publishers (P) Ltd, New Delhi. The publishers have responded magnificently with format, page layout, etc. This book will sharpen nurses' perception in several ways.

9Foreword
The content of the book Comprehensive Nursing Manual gives in nutshell, under one roof, information for nursing students, staff nurses, graduates and postgraduates. This book is also a useful guide to nurses who are preparing for interviews and planning to go abroad.
Due to lack of availability of continuous medical education in every hospital, many of the staff nurses feel lack of confidence to work in hospital equipped with latest technology. This book updates their knowledge to latest technologies.
