fm7Foreword
I am delighted and honored to write the foreword for this book on Handbook of Joint Disorders Arthroscopy and Pathology. This monogram reflects the expertise and excellence of the contributors who devoted many years to the study of diseases of the synovium. The arthroscope has changed the study of joint diseases, by facilitating direct visualization of synovium and allowing sampling of both synovium and synovial fluid. The synovial fluid examination is dealt with in great detail which is very practical and useful. The authors have illustrated almost all the diseases of the synovium and the color photographs are excellent. The arthroscopic findings and the histopathological features of each entity makes it very handy to correlate. The chapter on Infective Arthritis is beautifully illustrated. This is a good reference book for all arthroscopists, rheumatologists, orthopedic surgeons and pathologists.

fm9Foreword
It is my great pleasure to write the foreword for this book on synovium titled Handbook of Joint Disorders Arthroscopy and Pathology, which has been co-authored by my close friend Dr JVS Vidyasagar. I know Dr JVS, as he is popularly called in our circles, for many years, is a thorough human being. His book also is thorough in the subject reflecting his personality. The intensity which he works for his patients is reflected in the book as well.
This is a beautifully illustrated book with excellent arthroscopic and histopathology pictures. This book is a must read for anyone interested in synovium.
Lastly, I want to congratulate all the authors for a well-written and beautifully illustrated book.

This book is written for the pathologists, orthopedicians, arthroscopists and residents in these disciplines.
The pathology of various diseases of synovium and relevant arthroscopic findings are presented in this book. A balanced presentation with the latest advances in pathology of synovium has been attempted by quoting the opinion of several authors. The authors have ensured that the text is illustrated with high quality arthroscopic, microscopic and gross photographs. Authors hope that this book will be an useful aid in day-to-day practice and for trainees who will find this book indispensable in their education. This book is intended to provide a practical guide to interpretation of synovial diseases based on integrated assessment of arthroscopic findings, microscopic details and special techniques wherever needed.
