7Foreword
Cerebral palsy is a very challenging disability for parents and professionals. It requires knowledge, skills and empathy of the holistic care multifaceted management team. There is a felt need for useful information on cerebral palsy for professionals as most textbooks do not deal with the problem in detail.
It is my pleasure to write a few words about the young enthusiastic diligent professional who chose to write on a really common disability in great detail and depth, so that it could be a useful practical guide.
The book is well planned and the contents are appropriately chosen and indexed to provide good working knowledge to readers. The book deals with the evaluation and identification of causes of cerebral palsy and its management in reasonable details. It contains very useful information and is written in easily comprehensible style and is also illustrated appropriately.

9Preface
Cerebral Palsy and Early Stimulation is not an exhaustive book. It attempts to provide relevant information on cerebral palsy. This book covers epidemiology, etiology, early detection, diagnosis and management of various problems in children with cerebral palsy.
There is a lot of confusion, and hesitation still exists among many pediatricians and physicians regarding the diagnosis and management of cerebral palsy. Comprehensive information on all these aspects is not found in currently available books. Repeatedly, many residents, pediatricians and neurologists have expressed the need for a book that could provide essential and practical information in a concise form regarding the various problems seen in children with cerebral palsy.
The book is intended for use by trainers in medical colleges and major institutions, residents, postgraduate students, practicing pediatricians, developmental neurologists, developmental pediatricians, neurologists, physiotherapists and occupational therapists.
This book certainly needs great refinement and suggestions are solicited.
This book covers management of various problems in children with cerebral palsy. It covers latest recommendation by various organizations.
Currently, very few books on cerebral palsy are available, and most of these are for physiotherapists. There is a great need for book on cerebral palsy for pediatricians and neurologists.
