9Preface
This book covers many topics of current interest to cardiologists and physiologists ranging from cardiac conducting system to recent therapeutic approaches and researches made in the area of heart treatment. This book includes chapters on cardiac conducting system, sinoatrial node, cardiac Purkinje fibers, His system, its electrovector-cardiographic demonstration and sympathetic innervations in human heart including their autonomic regulation.
Another major highlight of this book is chapters on ablation of atrial fibrillation and ventricular fibrillation, cardiac dysfunctions, blood cholinesterase levels and QTc interval in patients with organophosphate poisoning. Besides these, sex-related differences in serum troponin in cardiac surgery have also been discussed.
Lastly, there are some chapters on myocardial repair by angiomyogenesis, suitable therapies for pathophysiology, diagnosis, medical management and nonpharmacological management of therapeutic schemes and future directions which have also been analyzed.
This book attempts to provide a valuable source of information on many highly significant aspects of cardiac structures, innervation, dysfunctioning, pathophysiology, electrocardiographs and proposed therapeutic tools. The medical practitioners, medical graduate and postgraduate students, researchers and scientific professionals in cardiology, pharmacology and physiology will find this book useful. It may also be of interest to medical planners and pharmacological laboratories engaged in manufacturing the cardioprotective drugs.
In order to create a combined collection of study material to understand outcome of recent cardiac researchers at a glance, this book is an effort. The chapters in the book have been written by the renowned and internationally established cardiologists. I sincerely thank all the contributors for accepting to write the chapters and submitting the chapters in a timely manner in spite of their heavily engaged schedules.
