11Preface
Recent Advances in Orthopedics is intended to serve as a practical source for both the adult reconstruction surgeon in practice and in training. This edition is a detailed overview of the newest information in the specialty of adult reconstruction.
We have sought to provide the reader with an informed perspective on the most pertinent “hot topics” in our field, written by renowned thought leaders. This edition explores bearing surface options, surgical approaches, pain management, implant selection, revision surgery, and joint preservation. Furthermore, we are excited to have contributions from internationally renowned surgeons in Europe and Asia. This lends a truly international perspective to this work and alerts the reader to challenges faced by adult reconstruction surgeons the world over.
It is our sincerest hope that Recent Advances in Orthopedics will serve as a compendium of the newest advances in adult reconstruction. We hope that you will find this to be as a unique, practical source for the latest information as you care for your patients.
