5Preface
A new millennium inspires hope that humankind at last will meet one of its major challenges—that of assuring access to affordable healthcare for every individual. As reforms emerge, a nurse's role will be the central one in shaping the policies, structures and practices to advance access.
Advanced Practice Nursing (APN) is the term used to define a level of nursing practice that uses comprehensive skills, experience and knowledge in nursing care. Advanced Practice Registered Nurses, whether they are nurse practitioners, clinical nurse specialists, nurse anesthetists, or nurse midwives, play a pivotal role in the future of healthcare.
In this Textbook of Advanced Nursing Practice, we have tried our level best to cover all the aspects of ANP.
