Who know that, in life, there are very few retakes
Who do not stop with invention, but proceed with innovation
Who do not stop with ‘why’, but ask ‘why not’?
Who do not just treat, but search for a care
Who do understand medicine, and teach it to others
Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice (Completely Revised) (second edition) is another great book by Dr Sunil (he has also authored Surgery—On Call, third edition).
It is amazing how much information he has condensed in each section. This makes it extremely valuable, since one can find critical and updated information on many topics.
Highlights of Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice (Completely Revised) include:
- Tables summarize diagnoses, investigations and treatment choices for common medical/surgical/gynecological problems
- Algorithms and flow charts clearly deal with disease conditions and can undoubtedly help in guiding practitioners
- Easy-to-remember mnemonics.
Every practitioner should definitely have this book in his/her satchel. Dr Sunil has hit another home run, as they say in baseball!

Preface to the Second Edition
Appreciation and enthusiasm from readers of Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice (Completely Revised) prompted me to write the second edition to give a clear and better understanding of management of common clinical conditions and diseases.
This revised edition has totally new look. Almost all previous topics have been rewritten and many new topics added. About 800 common day-to-day clinical problems presented here are evidence based, with recent advances. Evidence-based medicine is the conscientious, explicit and judicious use of current best evidence in making decisions about the care of individual patients.
Red flags (alarm symptoms and signs), clinical features, diagnosis, investigation choices and treatment options can be viewed in a single page as my aim is to provide the quickest way to see and evaluate a patient, and to decide who and when to prioritize for urgent investigations/admission/referral.
Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice (Completely Revised) is a pea-sized encyclopedia; everyone learning and practicing medicine will probably use this book as a daily handbook and as a reference book as well. It will be especially useful for those involved in general practice, family medicine, clinicians of all specialties and doctors preparing for postgraduate examinations to get answers to common clinical problems. It is my firm belief that this completely revised edition will help all clinicians and practitioners who read it to benefit their patients.
I greatly value and appreciate observations and feedback. Readers are requested to Email me and share thoughts, suggestions and criticism.

Preface to the First Edition
Problems in general practice are seen everyday by all doctors.
Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice aims to give relevant information, which can help treat patients in a better and easier way.
My previous book, Surgery—On Call (3rd edition) was an attempt to help surgeons, general practitioners, residents, interns and students, who deal with and treat common surgical problems. It has fulfilled its aim.
I am sure that all doctors including general practitioners and specialists will find my new book, Dr Sunil's One Page Solutions for General Practice, helpful and useful.
These two books are available in all medical bookshops.
K Sunil Ravinder Paul
