Foreword
It is with genuine pleasure that I take advantage of this opportunity to write the foreword for this wonderful book Essentials of Ophthalmology, which is the work and effort of Dr Dadapeer K.
One thing about him that always impressed me most was his simplicity, which is also reflected in his book. The simplicity and clinical value of the book can easily be recognized. It is the result of his past experience and intimate knowledge of the subject.
This book has been written as a course material for undergraduates. The aim is to provide students with complete and up-to-date material in simple language and lucid style, with additional material to help them to tackle potential new questions.
Gist boxes have been prepared with a great deal of effort, which will make simple for students to memorize the essentials with least effort. The references of the book have been taken from the recent editions of standard national and international medical publications and authors. Content is formatted to be student-friendly in such a way that reader can easily understand, retain and reproduce the facts. Text has been profusely illustrated with color diagrams, flowcharts and tables, hence helping the students assimilate the facts for long retention.
Lastly, I heartily congratulate the author for his excellent piece of work, which will surely help the students and wishing all the success.

Foreword
It gives me immense pleasure to write this foreword for Essentials of Ophthalmology by Dr Dadapeer K who has been my student for years. Having known Dr Dadapeer K throughout his student days, he has always had an inquisitive bent of mind with flair of ingenuity and original research. This book is a standing proof for the same.
Today there has been a veritable explosion in scientific information and advances in the field of ophthalmology. As such, it becomes imperative for student of the subject as well as practicing consultants to keep abreast of upcoming trends and ideas. In the melee, it is of utmost importance that a student of the subject remains well-versed with basic concepts and clinical aspects, which forms the backbone of any medical practice. This book bridges the lacuna between these extremes.
This book has been set in a design that is simple and convenient for the reader. Every topic has been dealt with in detail keeping in view of essential concepts and recent advances. Each topic has been divided into subgroups, which offers the quick glance into required data. Tables, charts and illustrations at appropriate places provide a lucid and comprehensive understanding of the subject.
This book would prove to be an invaluable asset for undergraduates and postgraduates for comprehensive study and quick review of ophthalmology.
Wishing all the success for this book … Happy reading.
