The purpose of writing this third edition book is to provide a thoroughly revised and updated book to the readers and to add a chapter of basic sonography of soft tissue.
I am thankful to Ms Sonia Thakur (Professional Assistant) for her help in completion of this book.

In accordance with wishes of private practitioners, this book has been written chiefly for the people who are interested in becoming Ultrasonographer and Ultrasonologist in X-ray and ultrasound clinics. I feel even the doctors and unit incharges who possess ultrasound units but are not radiologists can also be benefited significantly.
I must admit that in the preparation of the book, I have freely consulted various books and periodicals, to the authors of which I acknowledge my grateful thanks.
