The introspective clinician reflects upon his/her performance on a regular basis. Hopefully the reflective thoughts are usually positive. Occasionally, the thoughts may be along the lines of, “I wish I’d done a better job with that patient.” The purpose of this book is to make the office women’s health care provider a little more prepared for the challenging cases seen from time to time.
Each chapter covers a complex topic that may be difficult to manage due to its rarity or associated issues outside the usual scope of Obstetrics/Gynecology office practice. Familiarity with these topics, before the patients are seen, will allow the practitioner enhanced knowledge to address patient needs, but the chapters are short enough to review so that when a patient with one of the diagnoses presents for care, the physician can quickly review and devise a management strategy.
We hope this book enhances the care of women outpatients and the physician satisfaction inherent in the office care of women.
