The objective of this chapter is to introduce the fixed partial dentures. A fixed partial denture is a restoration which replaces few of the natural teeth and which cannot be readily removed by the patient or dentist, it is permanently attached to the natural teeth or roots which furnish the primary support. The different components of a fixed partial denture are retainers, pontic, and connector. This chapter is described in the question and answer format.
