Abstract

The psychiatry is the branch of medicine, which deals with study, treatment and prevention of mental illness. Madness is different from psychiatry. A psychiatric condition, if untreated, may develop into insane condition, which may become madness. Psychotherapy is the treatment of emotional problems by psychological techniques. Psychiatry disorders include affective disorders, anxiety disorders, somatoform disorders, disassociate disorders (hysterical neurosis), psychosexual disorders, personality disorders, schizophrenic disorders, and paranoic disorders, which are briefly discussed in this chapter.
