Abstract

The most commonly used procedures for practical examination in microbiology are staining methods, hanging drop preparation and stool/feces examination. This chapter focuses on hanging drop preparation. It is prepared from the bacterial growth provided in liquid culture medium in a test tube. It is done to demonstrate motility and to study morphology of bacteria. It is prepared from the bacterial growth provided in liquid culture medium in a test tube. Proceed to examine first with a low-power objective and then with a high-power one. There are 11 questions along with their crisp and to the point answers are also given at the end of this chapter.
