Ward Management and teaching is designed primarily as a text for nurses who are preparing themselves for the positions of hospital head nurses. Duties of ward in-charge or nurse manager, staffing as per Indian nursing council (INC) norms, staffing as per staff inspection unit (SIU) norms, nursing audit, material management, records maintained in ward, and performance appraisal. Audit refers to assessment of quality in clinical nursing. Performance appraisal is the evaluation of the performance of an individual after the stipulated period in order to judge the continuation of employment or promotion or termination.
