Contributors Preface to the Third Edition
The third edition of Ophthalmology Review has been updated with new knowledge and additional information covering all ophthalmic subspecialties. In this edition, the answers section has been further expanded to provide answers with complete explanations. New illustrations and images are also included throughout wherever needed both in the question and in the answer sections.
The book is intended to review the essentials of clinical and basic ophthalmic sciences and ophthalmic surgery. It not only provides an excellent review of ophthalmology but also quite useful as a study guide for those taking primary or recertification examinations in ophthalmology and optometry. Practicing ophthalmologists and optometrists should also find it useful as a general review.
We hope that students, residents, and practicing clinicians will use this book to explore the considerable knowledge in the ophthalmic literature that we have distilled into an easy-to-read format.
Myron Yanoff
Preface to the First Edition
Ophthalmology Review contains a series of questions covering all ophthalmic subspecialties. Answers are keyed to page numbers in the textbook Ophthalmology, edited by Myron Yanoff and Jay S Duker, and published by Mosby International Ltd in 1998. In some sections the incorrect response is sought, in others the correct response. The instructions for each section are given at the beginning of that section.
Ophthalmology Review is intended as a re-examination of the fundamentals of basic and clinical ophthalmic sciences and ophthalmic surgery. It is especially useful for those taking primary or recertification examinations in ophthalmology and optometry. Practicing ophthalmologists and optometrists will also find it helpful for a general review. We hope that students, residents, and practitioners will use Ophthalmology Review to revisit and explore the considerable knowledge available in the ophthalmic literature.
