Infertility is a worldwide problem, affecting couples in their reproductive age which causes considerable social, emotional, and psychological stress not only for the couples but also their families. It affects up to one in six couples and remains a major cause of distress in both men and women. Concerns about fertility continue to grow across the world, since lifestyle choices and social pressures have caused couples to delay childbirth. The increase in the mean age at which couples decide to plan a pregnancy has also led to a substantial increase in the requirements for infertility solutions. In recent decades, steady progress has been made in the treatment of infertility and the number of centers offering infertility treatment has burgeoned throughout the world.
It was in this context that we felt the need to bring out a book on Algorithms in Infertility and Reproductive Medicine. Understanding gyne-endocrinology and reproductive medicine can be difficult and therefore to make it more reader-friendly, we conceptualized the idea of adding maximum algorithms to the diagnostic work-up and management plan of the problems which clinicians come across in their day-to-day practice. The simple format makes this book an excellent choice and a ready-reckoner for practicing fertility specialists of all spectrums. The book is aimed at practicing clinicians as well as at students of Gynecology and Reproductive Medicine.
The readers of this text will encounter a comprehensive and perspicacious view of the discipline of reproductive medicine as revealed by practicing fertility specialists of the day.
